Arrived in New Zealand

Who says that 12 hour flights take it out of you and make you tired, what rubbish. We left LA on time and after a nice meal and drinks, decided it was time for bed. We were two hours into the flight exactly when I turned of my TV screen and light and pulled my blanket up to my neck. There were 3 hours 45 mins remasining of the flight when I next opened my eyes for breakfast. Another hours kip after that and we started descending into Auckland. Brilliant....simple, though not sure that a bleary eyed Kath agreed with my sentiments. Went through all the usual checks in NZ, not anything to do with terrorism but making sure we hadn't brought meat, honey, dried fruit or nuts into the country ! Maxine and Harry were waiting at the airport for us, great to see them again. We drove to Juicy car hire, just out of the airport and picked up a battered Toyota estate, something big enough to get the wheelchair into the back of. Were introduced to Darren's mum, Brenda and her partner, Vernan and sat out in the sun in the garden. Very nice. Spoke to Lucy and Vicki at home, Dad is coming out of hospital tomorrow hopefully. Just about to have some lunch now.
